The Juniors grew by leaps and bounds by playing, listening and encouraging each other on our last day of camp. Today the kids were pumped up to see the climbing wall set up at the Stapleton Green as they arrived to camp.
After our morning songs the Juniors were the first to climb the wall. Cheers rang out as they rooted their group members on as climbers worked toward the top. Everyone was so impressed that two of the Juniors made it all the way up, while the rest had a great time getting to where they felt comfortable.
We played games, painted butterfly faces and enjoyed the familiarity of our new friends. We took the bus to the Morrison Nature center where we hiked to a beautiful tree and had a nice lunch underneath.
After lunch the kids had a great time pretending that they were running their own ice cream shop, and made everybody their favorite flavors of imaginary ice cream.
We loaded the bus and went on our way to Fletcher Elementary for a quiet story, butterfly activity and guitar songs. The kids were so excited as we left that we sang songs the whole bus ride home.
The group really developed into a unite watching out for each others safety and belongings. Some of the kids worked together at helping each other to get focused before songs and games. Their enthusiasm and focus grew wonderfully from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. We cannot wait for next session!
