After singing songs at Mesa trailhead, the juniors went back to Eldorado Canyon to look for butterflies. We took a hike around the river and ate lunch in a nice shady spot under the trees. We built “bug houses” and played “caterpillar,caterpillar, butterfly” (duck, duck, goose) and some other fun games. After hiking back we hopped on the bus to come back to base camp. During story time we read books about butterfly life cycles and got to eat some delicious gorp for snack. To end the day we made pom-pom caterpillars with crazy googly eyes.
