Today the Dino-mytes explored Rocky Mountain Arsenal and saw lots of wild life on their hike. They saw lots of harvester and carpenter ants. One of the colonies was having a battle with a centipede and all of the campers watched with awe as the battle unfolded. The group also learned about cottonwood trees, wetland ecosystems and how flowers are pollinated. After lunch the counselors stumped the campers with some “black magic” and taught the campers more of the dinosaur song. They all played underneath cottonwoods afterwards and built a fort together. They even found some bones! Were they dinosaur bones perhaps? The day ended with “The Lorax,” songs and lots of goodbyes.
