What a week! Our Friday began with “Get Loose” and “The Fishing Song”, which everybody enjoyed. We learned a new game called Evolution, where everyone starts out as a caterpillar and plays Rock Paper Scissors with other caterpillars. Eventually you move on up to a butterfly! Because it was so very hot today, we did a long sunscreen party and played a quick water game. Next, we made up our own butterflies and drew them with sidewalk chalk! Several of our butterflies lived in the desert, and one even had radio antennas. Awesome! We then had sponge races which were a great way to cool off. We followed our races with a round of spray tag, and most of the campers wanted to be tagged all the time! Lunch in the shade was a welcome break, and afterwards we prepared to head out to the park by the Nature Conservancy. When we got there we played Caterpillar and had some free play. Back at Base Camp we colored our group name plates and relaxed a bit during story time. To end the day we did some special butterfly face paint and sang our final chorus of “On Top of Spaghetti”. We hope all our campers had a wonderful week and we can’t wait to see them again!
