The campers and counselors got a break from the heat today in beautiful Eldorado Canyon. The juniors came to the canyon today, adding some extra voices to our morning camp songs. We got moving by singing some classics including “riki tiki tumba” and “baby shark.” After, we used our best egg, chicken, dinosaur, robot and martian impressions in a game called “Evolution.” Once everyone was warmed up we split directions on different hikes. Some of us hiked up to see the nesting raptors and admired the skills of the several rock climbers actively climbing the canyon walls. The others hiked up to see the burned hotel, exploring the ruins and enjoyed the beautiful views while eating lunch. The hikes took up most of the day at camp. When the groups returned they worked on their “Cabin Codes,” which every camper signed.
