We had a wonderful lazy morning at camp today, with each cabin arriving to breakfast when they wished, after sleeping in for an extra hour! Waffles, sausage, and yogurt made for a yummy start to the day.
After breakfast, everyone geared up for Camp Cleanup. First, we were off to their cabins for some serious organizing! Dirty sheets gone, new sheets on, sweeping, vacuuming, tidying shelves- you name it! Every cabin is spotless to start the second half of the week. After cabin inspections, everyone was assigned another job around camp. Bathrooms, the dining tent, the lodge, and everywhere else we’ve been spending time at camp are now as clean as can be! A clean camp was a great way to welcome our new one-week campers this afternoon, and we can’t wait to get to know everyone. Welcome! Our new one-weekers enjoyed a wonderful opening campfire with their counselors this evening.
Two-week campers enjoyed their second half of special weekend activities today, as well as picking their new ones for the coming week! Evening program tonight was creating a new schedule of activities, including some longer hikes, and a three-day / two-night backpacking trip! Campers were also excited to sign up for more challenging lessons of horseback riding and archery, as well as our usual activity offerings. After everyone made a great schedule for the week, we were off to Town Hall to make s’mores! A yummy way to end a Sunday at camp.
