As the two-weekers started their second half of the week activities, our one-week campers were off to the Gilpin County Rec. Center Indoor Pool, for an awesome day of water slides, diving boards, a picnic lunch, and a lot of swimming!
The two-week campers also did some swimming today, when the waterfront was open during Organized Free time! Campers and counselors braved the cold water and enjoyed the sun.
The kitchen treated us to another delicious pizza night tonight, and campers loved all of the different options! Veggie, meat lovers, mac n’ cheese, pepperoni, cheese, Hawaiian, and more!
For evening program tonight, campers and counselors enjoyed their second night of Embers- private, cabin campfires at locations behind the Lodge and Big Hall. Tonight the focus was Responsibility, and what our personal responsibilities are in our camp community, our home communities, and our school communities. Campers and counselors did an activity around the fire to help understand how fun and responsibility work well together when balanced.
While two-seekers were at their campfires, one-week counselors were in the Big Hall around the fire with Jenna and their counselors. After having their own conversation about responsibility, they loved making s’mores!
We can’t believe we only have two more full days of camp!
