Explorers escaped the heat yesterday and went up to Camp Wondervu.  Campers explored the mountains at 9,000 feet and hiked all over the property. Some groups walked down to the lake and made boats for ants, while other groups hiked to Thunder Ridge for lunch. Other groups explored the property and walked all the way around camp.

Fort building was a popular activity yesterday as well. Some groups opted to expand forts left by previous groups, while others struck out to build their own. Groups worked together to build some impressive structures against rocks and trees and in crevices.

When not fort building and hiking, campers made musical instruments from recycled materials, did origami, adopted pet rocks, and dissected owl pellets. Today we’ll be at Stapleton Green in the morning and JetStream Pool in the afternoon.
