The Juniors started off week D with a trip up to NCAR. This week is all about BIRDS, so we spent some time looking through binoculars for magpies, robins, hawks, and all sorts of birds flying around. We sang Tarzan, played the fruit salad game, and had our very first sunscreen party. Right before lunch, we cooled off inside NCAR while checking out the science exhibits. We got on the bus and headed back to base camp to decorate our water bottles (they had our names on them, so we had been drinking all day). We read some Native American legends about birds, then played in the sprinkler to beat the heat. Then, we named our new groups: The Happy Blue Jays and the Excited Robin Hawk Birds!
