This morning we got right on the bus to head to Marshall Mesa trailhead.  At the trailhead we opened with fun songs and games.  Songs including “Walking on Sunshine” because it was such a beautiful sunny day, and a super fun song called “Pick the Apple.”  We played a game called “The Sun Shines On,” and then headed out for our hike.

We hiked down the trail to find a good place for bug hunting.  We scoured the area for bugs and found ants, flies, and even two grasshoppers!  During our hike we practiced “flood” drills which helps us get off the trail in case a biker, hiker, or wild animal (dog) is coming down the trail.  We also played 10 second camo again.

After bug catching, we had sit spots and sound maps, which allowed us to have some quiet alone time so we could listen to nature.  This got us all prepped up and hungry for lunch, which was next!

After lunch we headed back to the trailhead so we could take the bus back to base camp.  At base camp we had play time, then created our very own rainmakers.  After doing a little rain dance, we played an outside running game called Gold Rush!  That game got us nice and ready for story time and snack time.

We finished up the day playing a couple of team building activities involving a long rope (like how tall are we compared to the rope, and pass the carabiner, and spider web).  We ended the day singing songs and giving thanks.

Turns out – a lot of campers are thankful that we are swimming tomorrow!  Please don’t forget swimsuits and towels!  Can’t wait to see you!
