We had a fun, kite-and-weather-filled day at the Meadow! We began our day with some fun songs, including The Princess Pat and Joe, who Works in a Button Factory. Then, we played a fun all-camp game of The Sun Shines On, before filling our water bottles and putting on sunscreen in preparation for our day. Each group had a chance to explore the meadow a bit–the Awesome Marching Overcooked Jelly-Bean-Eating Chickens even saw a red-tailed hawk and an old abandoned car! In the middle of the day, we did hop on the bus for a bit, just because it was thundering and lightening a little, and we wanted to be safe. However, it actually worked out perfectly; it gave campers a quiet, non-windy place to work on their lanyards and pipe cleaner creations! After the storm passed, we hopped back off the bus and assembled and flew our kites! It was amazing–check our password-protected photo site, photos.aocamps.com, for pictures! (You can find the password in your camp account.) Then, we finished up our day with some delicious gorp for snack, and jumped back on the bus to head home. Everyone was tired from a great day; we even had a few campers fall asleep on the bus!
